The guitarist / composer was born in Palermo (Italy) on 11 February 1977. After graduating in sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Palermo in 2001 and studying self-taught guitar, he attended the jazz guitar course at “Prins Claus Conservatory “in Groningen (Netherlands) in 2004, studying with Conrad Herwig, Ralph Peterson Jr., Brian Lynch, David Berkman, Steve Davis, Michael Moore, Deena De Rose, Don Braden, Anton Goudsmit; between Holland and Italy he follows seminars with Lee Konitz, Joe Lovano, Salvatore Bonafede, Ralph Towner, Maria Pia De Vito, David Gilmore, Kurt Rosenwinkel. In 2007 he graduated from the CCP receiving a scholarship from the prestigious “Andrea Elkenbracht” Foundation (Groningen) to spend 3 months in New York. Here he studies with Ben Monder, Gilad Hekselman, Lage Lund, Jonathan Kreisberg, Adam Rogers, Gene Bertoncini, Steve Coleman. In March 2011, the debut CD of the band Manziluna was released, “Manziluna” (Fitzcarraldo Rec.), Of which he is co-leader, composer and arranger. In 2014 the second album “L’Intrigo” (Cantina Rec) was released and the band participated in various tours in numerous festivals in Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland (Vininjazz Feastival, 2008; International Ethnic Festival, Yhan – The Source of Music, 2010 ; Zomer Jazz Fiets Tour, 2014). Between 2012 and 2014 he collaborates with various national and international projects and records with Emanuele primavera 4et (IT), on the album “Replace” (Alfamusic 2012) and Jacek Kochan MusiConspiracy in Poland on the album “Parentes” (Hevetia, 2015) . He plays with Conrad Herwig, Marcello Pellitteri, Stefano D’Anna, Giovanni Falzone, Machine of sounds Orchestra of Marvi La Spina (feat.Davk Kikoski), Dominik Wania, Seby Burgio, Pietro Ciancaglini, Mauro Schiavone, Michael Rosen, Tarek Yamani, Kaja Draksler, Sanem Kalfa. almost four years in London, as he returns to Italy in 2018. He collaborates with Jacek Kochan MusiConspiracy’s second album “Occupational Hazards” (Audio Cave, 2020) together with other special guests such as Nguyen Le and Rich Brown. He is a member of Alessandro Presti’s Tatum Art Orchestra and in 2019 he recorded his first album, “Lunar” (Comar23 Rec, 2020) of which he is composer and arranger.
